Glen McNamee
UKIP’s Slightly Racist David Cottrell
Posted on May 2, 2013 in Politics

UDave-Cottrell[1]KIP’s David Cottrell is running for a Council seat in Pallister Park Middlesbrough today. So let’s have a look at the chap’s social media profiles to see what can kind of man he is.

His Twitter profile under the name of UKIP_Middlesbro is rather dull, only 122 tweets and all of them are just links to things from his public Facebook profile

That Facebook profile is much more interesting.

First of all he has a couple of interesting pictures, with interesting comments on his profile.

Lovely stuff. I’m sure you’ll agree.

racist3

I know something isn’t very becoming.

He’s also a “Fan” of the following page. I guess that means he doesn’t speak “DURKHA DURKHA”.

racist4

Update: In the comments below, Cottrell defends this page because it “highlights the worldwide threat Islamic extremism poses”. I wrote this post How not to “highlight the worldwide threat Islamic extremism poses” to show why this is a big fat lie.

Remember kids, UKIP isn’t racist!

As someone who is mixed race I am amazed at what lengths people will go to call someone racist often it shows lack of intelligence, the word racist is loosing it’s meaning because of people like yourself Glen. I am assuming that you have never told a joke about gays or the Irish ( paddy and mick etc) or laughed at comedians who stereotype people ? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!

      • Glen McNamee says:

I am amazed at what lengths people will go to

What lengths? I posted his comments unaltered. How is that going to lengths?

        it shows lack of intelligence

I like part, classic “If you disagree with this you are stupid” logic. However don’t try and be condescending in a the middle of a run on sentence. You just look silly.

Since you seem to like condescending. I’ll have a go myself.

the word racist is loosing it’s meaning

I’ll assume you mean losing. No, the word racist isn’t losing it’s meaning. I looked in a dictionary and everything. It’s still there, as is lose and loose.

I am assuming that you have never told a joke about gays or the Irish ( paddy and mick etc)

I love Irish jokes. Having a Irish surname, and being the butt of the them at school was fucking brilliant. Also yes, I also think Homophobia is hilarious.

(That last sentence was sarcastic, Anthony. In case you didn’t notice).

“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!”

So we can’t judge other people because we aren’t perfect? I guess we’ll be asking Gary Glitter to look after our kids then, Anthony? Maybe, Hitler wasn’t so bad, I mean I took a library book back late once.

No? Well I guess we can judge some people then, eh? Seems to be a fucking stupid saying, if you really think about it.

        • David Cottrell says:

I’m glad you think homophobia is hilarious, Glen, because I don’t, having been beaten up at school and ridiculed at various times during my life because I’m gay, Glen. I suffered greatly because of it as have many other gays Glen! Some having been killed for being gay.

Although I suspect you mean (and I’m cutting you a break here Glen) that you like jokes about gays…..Nothing wrong with that, so do I.so maybe we have more in common that we realise!

You really need to chose your words more carefully, Glen.

          • Glen McNamee says:

Fuck sake David. Can you read? Have another go; Here’s a clue; “(That last sentence was sarcastic, Anthony. In case you didn’t notice).”

  2. David Cottrell says:

Precisely Glen. and yes, it wasn’t lost on me and although you were being ironic, there are some people who STILL would be “offended” despite that, though I’m still at a loss to see what is offensive about the comments I made regarding the golly!
Please, if you can, be kind enough to tell me.
As for making fun of a bhurka, an item of clothing, how can that possibly be racist? No reference was made to any individual or race, although I have criticised Islam, or am I not allowed to do that.

Now the website “Izlam IS a Mental Disease”, highlights the worldwide threat Islamic extremism poses, I happen to agree with that and I have Muslim friends, also, who happen to agree with me
I’ve friends of different races who think you are foolish and are scraping the barrel, Glen in order to make a tenuous point.

    • Wood says:

      Glen’s gay lol

    • Glen McNamee says:

      Precisely Glen.

      Precisely what?

it wasn’t lost on me and although you were being ironic

Really? Really, really? I think someone’s pants are on fire.

there are some people who STILL would be “offended” despite that,

Only people who have difficulty reading.

though I’m still at a loss to see what is offensive about the comments I made regarding the golly! Please, if you can, be kind enough to tell me.

Bullshit. If it wasn’t offensive why write “I so hope I’ve offended someone !”?

As for making fun of a bhurka

Again, what are you talking about? Who mentioned a Burka? Do you have a guilty conscience about something?

Now the website “Izlam IS a Mental Disease”, highlights the worldwide threat Islamic extremism poses,

No it doesn’t. It’s a bunch of horrible arseholes sharing hateful right wing shit on Facebook. You are so wrong about this I made the following post about it. http://www.c64glen.com/2013/05/how-not-to-highlight/

I’m sure given your previous comments, the homophobia in that groups is a huge issue for you.

      I have Muslim friends

That’s up there with “I’m not racist, but”

I’ve friends of different races who think you are foolish and are scraping the barrel, Glen in order to make a tenuous point.

When you get condescending your sentence structure gets even worse than mine. That is no mean feat.

  3. Wood says:

Glen, Hi, I’m a gay man, and I am gay. I am offended by what you have said on your website. You think it’s funny to be gay, but as a gay man who is gay I think that’s a bit gay so please stop being gay.

On the other hand, as a gay man, I think you might also be gay. You think homophobia is funny? SURPRISE DICKHEAD! That means you feel guilty inside, as I suspect that you are suspect that the fact is that you are gay, gay.

  4. Lee Garvey says:

No one of the underlying comments are from someone who actually read your blog properly. All just taking part of what you said and using it against you Glen 🙁 I think UKip has been hailed as racist and has therefor been attracting, the racists. I dont suppose you could start a political party with the intentions of taking the country away from all the other countries and acting on our own, without being labeled ”racist” and subsequently attracting racist nut jobs like the one above.
